Maria Montessori School of Quezon City Metro Manila

Montessori is an approach in education which believes that a child learns best in an environment which supports and respects each individual’s unique development.

The creator and proponent of this method is Dr. Maria Montessori. Based on her scientific observations of young children’s behavior, they learn in a homelike-setting (prepared environment) filled with materials that are self-correcting to facilitate learning. The teacher acts as a monitor and guide to encourage individual exploration, discovery, trial, practice and success.

Maria Montessori School of Quezon City (MMSQC) employs the Montessori Philosophy and Method that emphasize on the development of all facets of a child’s unfolding personality: social, emotional, cognitive and physical.

The school was established in 1981 and was recognized in 1983 by the Department of Education, under Government Recognition no. 063 s.1983. It is owned and operated by the Maria Montessori School of Quezon City Corporation.

The President and Directress, Mrs. Maritza L. Tecson received her Montessori Diploma in 1975 from the “Centro Internationale di Studi Montessoriani” in Bergamo, Italy. Ms. Ma. Judessa L. Tecson received her Montessori Diploma from the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee in the year 1999. Both of them are “Association Montessori Internationale” (AMI) graduates. Ms. Jesella T. Mendoza attended a summer course for the preschool level at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education, New York in 2002.

MMSQC is accredited by the Bureau of Immigration to accept foreign students. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion or national origin. Admission is on a “first come, first served” basis.
